THE PURPOSE:

The Lead Recruiter provides leadership, support, advocacy and vision to a team of technical recruiters and support staff who provide recruiting support to hiring managers across the organization. They are responsible for the performance management and hiring of these employees.

THE ROLE:

• Responsible for a team of full life-cycle recruiters: recruiting, screening and recommending placement of employees by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external)
• Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs
• Serves as an expert for recruiting candidates within the organization
• Ensure alignment between Recruiters, Business Partners and hiring teams
• Distributes team workload evenly to get the best hiring results and to achieve company hiring goals
• Creates new, and improves on existing, recruiting processes, procedures and policies
• Research, test and implement new efficiency tools
• Uses traditional and nontraditional resources to help the team identify and attract quality candidates
• Develops advertising and employer branding programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates
• Recruit and train team members
• Partner with hiring managers and department heads to make hiring plans, hiring decisions, share best practices, aid on critical needs and team changes
• Be an advisor in hiring planning meetings and cross department projects
• Play an active role in improving our social recruiting efforts, marketing partnerships and top of funnel work

• Must have the following critical skills; business acumen, communication, consultation, critical evaluation, leadership & navigation, and relationship management

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Must have experience recruiting for technical roles in engineering and technology industries
• Must have experience managing a team of >3 recruiters
• Experience developing the strategy to recruit a variety of roles in diverse markets
• Must understand our broader business and be able to answer questions around the Virgin Hyperloop One strategy, goals and culture
• Successful track record of sourcing passive candidates and filling senior level positions
• Experience operating ATS (Greenhouse preferred)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
• Experience operating HRIS (UltiPro preferred)
• Knowledge of California and Nevada labor law.
