Role Overview
InStride’s People and Talent (HR) team are passionate about our business, our partners, our culture, and most importantly our InStriders. We are looking to expand our People Operations team with a thoughtful, optimistic, forward-looking and genuine Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). This role will be responsible for supporting, coaching and building our People Managers, Leaders and leading best practices in our People processes. This position will play a meaningful role in supporting the execution of talent development, employee relations and performance management processes that will create a phenomenal employee experience and help the company deliver amazing results. To apply we ask that you have a solid generalist background with in-depth knowledge of key HR practices and consultancy practices.
Key Responsibilities
- InStrider First: Build strong internal relationships, serve as a trusted partner to guide InStride HR practices and processes from good to great!
- Coach: Meet with your business unit leaders weekly to understand business needs, provide coaching and guidance.
- Leading the Pack: Be a thought partner with our people managers and leaders to develop their teams and management, training and performance practices. By doing so you will help improve work relationships, career development, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Talent Development & Operations: Support our overall training, employee relations, development routines and strategy. Recommend and partner with People & Talent leadership, People Operations Manager on training and development solutions.
- Talent Management: Handles and resolves complex employee relations issues with People Managers to conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations to provide sound guidance and next steps to ensure a strong workforce.
- Forward-Looking: Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Solution-Oriented: Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the People & Talent leadership to develop solutions, programs and policies.
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of progressive People & Talent (HR) experience, with a background in consultative business partnering in a startup culture
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Strong business acumen required! You must have an understanding of organizational design or engineering, talent development, employee relations, compensation practices, and the HR practices related
- Desire to make an impact and be a part of a talented group of people who learn from each other
- Exceptional customer service orientation who consistently demonstrates collaboration, empathy and inclusion
- Ability to think strategically to improve existing process, seek innovative solutions to problems, and ensure continued efficiency and to make things better for the organization to drive performance, retention, and employee engagement
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality with employee information and other sensitive materials
- Natural curiosity and selfless drive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Extremely well organized and with a sense of urgency - strong prioritization skills and detail orientation
