This position can be based out of either our Pasadena or Irvine office.

Job Summary:

The HR Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination and completion of projects on-time, within budget, and within scope. This individual will oversee all aspects of HR-related business and systems projects – set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor progress, and report on project status.

Job Expectations:

  • Determines and discerns detailed requirements on HR projects to establish the project deliverables, and manages changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs to keep the project management plan updated and reflective of authorized project changes
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Human Resources team and SVP, HR regarding outstanding projects
  • Act as liaison with between Human Resources, stakeholders, and contributors. Establishes and maintains team members and project stakeholder relationships, expectations, and communications
  • Performs testing and documentation of new process changes, partnering with the specific areas of the org who will be impacted to ensure the needs are being met
  • Performs workflow analysis to determine best process solutions for HR processes, identifying non-value added steps and proposing new process improvements
  • Identifies and develops strategy for changes in scope, schedule, and cost. Develops strategic rationale for changes to costs, benefits, trade-offs, etc.
  • Develops project plans, route deliverables; obtains management sign-offs, supplies status reports, and supervises implementation
  • Develops and runs analyses, which include timeline slippage, critical path and other ad hoc requests
  • Maintains project logs and time sheets for internal accounting. Supervises the collection and verifies the accuracy of such data for projects and sub-projects under own direction
  • Develops and maintains detailed project implementation plans; acts as a resource for project members
  • Initiates escalation of risks, issues, and constraints as appropriate to ensure timely resolution
  • Roll-out of HR programs to leaders and employees within the Enterprise
  • Interfaces directly with various business unit groups including all HR groups, Operations, Legal, Finance, IT, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Proven ability to work with a high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, and autonomy
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to easily flex style and/or approaches to successfully manage changes in priorities, deadlines, and workload
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skill
  • Proven experience managing multiple large programs/projects
  • Proactively solves problems and identifies the information needed to enable effective decision making and actions
  • Great communications skills – you must be able to present your findings to executives and business stakeholders
  • Familiar with variety of project management and change management concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to analyze data and convey results into compelling stories to support business case

Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
  • Advanced knowledge leveraging Project Management tracking software, preferably Asana

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of:

  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of hands-on HR experience managing HR-related projects of increasing complexity
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of project management disciplines and best practices

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • PMP certification desired
