About the role:

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will play an integral role in the growth of WELL Health, scaling people practices and cultivating our whole-person culture. This role will partner with senior leadership and their teams to identify, influence and shape projects and initiatives that will support our business goals and employees through future stages of growth.

As a part of the People Team, the HRBP will assist in building innovative new programs to support our teams as they scale, equipping everyone at WELL Health to do their best work, be themselves, and feel part of a mission-driven community.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Work cross-functionally to provide senior leaders, managers and employees with the tools they need to operate effectively and achieve WELL Health’s strategic priorities
  • Advance the status quo and proactively surface opportunities for efficiency to increase the People team’s impact across the company
  • Be a trusted advisor in all areas of HR including career development, employee relations, investigations, leaves of absence, and compensation
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new HR processes and practices to grow the business
  • Partner with and coach managers on performance management, inclusive leadership, employee relations, engagement survey data, employee recognition, and compensation planning
  • Manage employee performance issues and provide advice to business leaders on ways to manage each case
  • Counsel employees and provide support to managers concerning work related issues, applying HR best practices for performance management and mitigating potential risk
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of employee counseling and investigations
  • Leverage data on attrition rates and history, retention risk markers, engagement surveys and market competitiveness to influence and deploy new company-wide programs and practices
  • Provide counsel and guidance on complex employee matters
  • Influence and deploy practices to increase employee engagement and retention
  • Partner with other People functions (Total Rewards, Recruiting, Learning & Development) to act as a point of contact and liaison for senior leaders and employees
    • For example:
      • Partner with the Total Rewards team to advise leaders and stakeholders on our compensation philosophy and practices
      • Partner with the Learning & Development team to facilitate tailored learning experiences geared towards team/competency building, leadership development, and career progression
      • Partner with the Recruiting and Finance teams on headcount planning, internal mobility, and driving hiring efficiencies across the company
  • Model and reinforce WELL Health’s culture and values

What you bring:

  • 4-7+ years of HR experience, previous HRBP experience preferred
  • Experience building and maintaining trusted working relationships at all levels of the company
  • Comfort providing advice, counsel and conflict management on a variety of HR and business related issues on both strategic and tactical levels
  • Team player mentality with the People Team and stakeholders
  • Experience using data to identify insights that drive action
  • Project management and change management skills and ability to lead programs independently
  • Excellent communication skills across written, verbal, active listening, presentation, and meeting facilitation
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects while owning multiple competing priorities
  • Experience driving diversity, inclusion and belonging work
  • Well-rounded working knowledge of US employment law, talent strategy, performance management, workforce planning, compensation, etc.
  • Solution-focused thinking with a bias towards action 
  • Ability to seamlessly transition between “thinking on your feet” and “looking around corners”
  • HR related certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) or other professional designation is a plus!

LOCATION

WELL Health is headquartered in Santa Barbara, CA. For this role, we are looking for candidates located in California, preferably in Santa Barbara.
