Head of Talent
Team and Role Overview
At Relativity, we reimagine the way rockets are built and flown. We are redefining design, manufacturing and operational processes, to build the first true 21st-century aerospace company. We are looking for a Head of Talent to join our growing team at our headquarters in Los Angeles. As Head of Talent at Relativity, you will be responsible for defining and leading Relativity’s talent acquisition strategy to support our rapid growth and strengthen the recruiting model and programs. As a senior leader this role will act as a true partner to the business to identify talent gaps, implement recruiting tools, develop and implement sourcing tools and processes, ensure Relativity has robust programs in place for diversity and inclusion practices, university recruiting, employer branding, on-boarding programs and scale the overall recruiting organization to deliver against our ambitious hiring plans. You will report to the VP of Operations.
Outcomes and Objectives
To help us reimagine the way rockets are built and flown, as Relativity’s Head of Talent, you will
• Utilize knowledge of business needs and priorities to develop recruiting strategies and programs that ensure an ongoing pipeline of top talent to fill positions at all levels in the organization including strategic and executive searches.
• Provide expert guidance, facilitation and collaboration for all senior leaders and hiring leaders to recruit, identify, select, onboard, and retain highly skilled best in class candidates
• Provide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to the Talent Acquisition team and hiring leaders on interviewing standard methodologies, offer recommendations, negotiating/creating job offers, closing, and administrative functions involved in full cycle recruiting
• Build a strong, credible relationship with senior leaders, hiring managers and critical partners; operating as trusted advisor and subject matter expert
• Design, implement and maintain scalable processes, tools, systems and trainings necessary to support the recruiting function globally
• Create a strategic plan and organizational model that provides a unique menu of talent services designed to operate at a scale and efficiency for the business and talent acquisition function
• Build talent communities and talent pipelines for critical skill areas and diversity sourcing efforts, that yield into hiring outcomes for the business
• Manage efficient, fast-paced full-cycle recruiting operations that support Relativity’s rapid growth plans
• Stay on top of external trends and innovative recruiting and sourcing techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices
• Develop and implement diversity and inclusion, university recruiting, employer branding efforts and strategy for Relativity
• Develop and implement workforce plans, refine hiring forecasting capabilities, and establish and report on key recruiting metrics to measure team effectiveness and provide data-driven, actionable insights
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this role, you should have 10+ years of Talent Management experience, ideally with a track record of building talent at various companies at varying stages of growth. You thrive in highly technical environments, where you build connections, develop an understanding of technical challenges, and provide strategic insight and outstanding execution towards hiring objectives. Through your work, you help people leaders in the company craft effective, thoughtful talent strategies, so that we develop the talent on our team to hit our ambitious technical and business milestones.
We keep the bar for talent incredibly high, and you are comfortable sourcing from a very challenging talent pool, as well as have a track record of creative sourcing strategies. You are an experienced people leader and focus your leadership on developing your team’s talent through providing autonomy and coaching. You are excited about complementing the highly technical Relativity team with expertise and experience in developing and implementing talent acquisition strategies. You are both strategic and also hands-on in your approach, and don’t hesitate to pick up the phone to speak with candidates to close them. Last but not least, you are excited about space and boundary-pushing technology, and are able to convey this excitement to candidates and team members alike.
Required Skills and Competencies
- 10+ years of broad recruiting and leadership experience in Talent Acquisition or Human Resources, with at least 5+ years of leading teams
- A successful track-record of recruiting management at a rapidly growing technology company
- Demonstrated experience creating and executing a metrics-driven, consultative service oriented recruiting strategy for a global organization
- Ability to develop business cases and service requirements, influence and foster trust with stakeholders at all levels, while creating and managing strategic alliances
- Deep expertise in social media, digital marketing and recruiting platforms/tools, and employer brand best practices
- Strong interpersonal savvy and self-awareness with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in business, human resources or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Self-starter and strong problem solver
- Extraordinary multi-tasking capabilities
