Head of People

The Role:

As Head of People, reporting to the CEO, you’ll play a strategic role in curating our culture during a period of incredible growth. You will be the voice & the face of the company when it comes to finding the best candidates to join our team and welcoming them to SnackNation on Day 1. You will also be a partner for our Leadership team in developing the playbook to develop tomorrow’s managers and leaders. You will also be handling all employee relations and people programming, while making yourself available as a resource for everyone at the company.

What You'll Do:

  • This is not your standard “Head of HR” role. You’ll be a key member of the Leadership Team – managing the entire People team (Talent Acquisition, HR, and Workplace Experience) – and will be responsible for maintaining the alignment between our company values and all HR-related practices and policies. You will be a true partner with every single VP at the company to help facilitate the culture and success of the company. We lead with a “people-first, product-second” mentality and you will be tasked with making sure this never changes.
  • Attracting the Very Best. You’ll be responsible for all aspects of recruiting & onboarding – this includes building & leading the Talent Acquisition team to fill open positions within the given time & budget demands, managing the SnackNation employer brand across all internal/external resources, determining the best candidate sourcing strategy, and delivering the best new hire onboarding program. 
  • Making People Better. “Better Every Day” is our mantra at SnackNation and you’ll own weaving that mindset into everything we do. You’ll need to know how to implement training programs & tools that will assist managers in hiring, managing and motivating their respective teams. You’ll build out world-class development curriculums and performance management programs to develop leaders across the company.
  • Getting Everyone on the Same Page . You’ll be responsible for supporting communication across the entire organization and ensuring our values are reflected in everything we do. This includes leading Rockoff (our weekly company-wide update meeting), updating key stakeholders weekly with necessary information and reporting, leading communication plans for organizational changes and announcements, setting expectations and driving accountability company-wide, and so much more. You’ll be the true champion for transparent and proactive communication at SnackNation. 
  • World Class People Operations. From compensation and benefits to employee relations and systems, you’ll ensure we are operating from a place of excellence and continually seeking opportunities to improve all facets of People Operations. You will also ensure that all policies and practices comply with all applicable laws and, if necessary, follow-up on all workplace complaints & employee separations, including such aspects as engaging outside counsel, managing severance payments, protecting SnackNation from all employee-related risks.

Who You Are:

  • 7-10 years of progressive HR experience
  • 4-5 years of experience leading others
  • You're obsessively organized, detail-oriented, and sincerely empathetic
  • Extensive experience formulating, presenting, and executing team strategy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with understanding of project management principles and processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an enthusiastic attitude, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams
  • Radical candor: You care deeply, challenge directly, and thrive in an environment where feedback is received with gratitude. You understand that communicating where we’ve done well and where we can improve, both to your team and leadership, is an absolute necessity for our growth and future success.
  • Project management: You can easily manage various different projects and campaigns while staying on-track with deliverables and communications
  • Catalyst for change: You share that same electric energy and drive to disrupt the conventional ways of how a brand comes to market and connects with their future customers and thrive in a changing environment
