We’re looking for a Head of Employee Relations & HR Compliance to join Snap Inc! In this role at our headquarters in Santa Monica, you will enable the organization through effective management--reactive and proactive--on a wide range of issues and help with both maintaining and scaling our HR compliance efforts globally. Reporting to our Chief People Officer, you will be responsible for working with leaders across the organization to ensure our employees are consistently treated fairly and respectfully, and in alignment with our Snap values.
What you'll do:
Partner with leaders, managers, and HR partners across the organization to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices.
Provide expertise, consultation, and coaching to all levels of the organization on ways to address employee behavior and performance concerns, including assisting on the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective action that aligns with company processes.
Interpret and apply understanding of global company policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification for employee relations and HR compliance matters..,
Provide subject matter expertise in specialized regulatory areas globally (e.g. EEOC, ADA, OFCCP, FMLA, WARN Act, OSHA, FLSA, works council, trade unions, etc).
Partner with internal employment attorneys and other internal investigative teams, as appropriate.
Educate leaders and partner with HR Business Partners and HR Generalists on preemptively addressing potential employee issues, including:
Effectively managing under-performance
Giving effective performance feedback
Inclusion and belonging
Overall manager effectiveness
Complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
Identify opportunities to build skills and capabilities in employee relations, culture, and workplace compliance issues for leaders, managers and individual contributors alike.
Investigate and respond to internal and external complaints, and complex, high-risk, or sensitive employee relations cases.
Serve as a facilitator and apply interventions to resolve employee disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings.
Create communications, training materials, and other change management mechanisms to educate stakeholders throughout the company on new and revised policies, processes, and programs.
Design, develop, and draft various employee-facing and HR Compliance-related policies and processes for both the U.S. and globally.
Provide guidance and management to the company’s Contingent Workforce and Global Mobility & Immigrations programs.
7+ years of experience supporting employee relations and HR compliance-related efforts
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience supporting employee relations, employment legal, and/or HR compliance-related efforts at both small and large, globally distributed organizations
Juris Doctor degree
Knowledge and deep understanding of laws, regulations, and statutes related to employment, benefits, and HR compliance globally
Sound judgment when working through complex, confidential issues
High emotional intelligence
Experience designing, creating, implementing, and managing employee relations processes and programs
Executive presence with a business mindset
A track record as a trusted business partner to senior executives
A track record of hiring, developing, and managing a successful, high-performing team
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization
Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
