The Field Learning Manager is an integral member of the sweetgreen Learning & Development team. You will design and deliver training programs, enhance current technology and adopt and measure solutions to help us scale as we continue to grow exponentially. 

The Field Learning Manager will partner with leaders and SMEs to create or collaborate on training including: Coach-in-Training Program, Leadership Development and Team Member learning tracks for our field teams.

We are looking for a seasoned Learning and Development professional, passionate about food and people.  Someone that also possesses an understanding of start-up culture, DE&I initiatives, experience in launching learning and development strategies, and the desire to truly impact the people and communities we serve.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop fleetwide infrastructure and culture to support learning:
    • Build strong and trusting relationships to support a culture where leadership capabilities are built at every level 
      • Partner with field leadership to build a network of Certified Training Restaurant and trainers to support NROs and in-restaurant training
      • Establish innovative learning strategies to improve upon the diversity and strength of our talent
  • Design and partner in the execution of fleetwide trainings:
    • Design and deploy learning paths for all field-level employees
    • Design and execute trainings for developing talent to build our future leaders, in partnership with the Talent Acquisition and Operations teams
    • Partner with SMEs to design and deliver training programs
    • Facilitate online and in-person classes for field leadership, as needed
  • Measure impact of fleetwide training programs:
    • Deliver quarterly report on the positive impacts of training on on-the-job performance and retention, so that you can consult on which programs to expand, alter, or do away with

Desired Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on leadership of a restaurant or retail store, preferably as a general manager
  • Minimum of 5 years of blended L&D strategy design and facilitation, including not just instructor-led classroom delivery but also non-classroom learning/leadership development design (such as running a training restaurant, on-the-job shoulder-to-shoulder training, coaching/mentoring programs, etc.)
  • At least 1 year of administrative duties that included: following up + responding to email, attending conference calls, basic use of word/excel
  • Prior experience facilitating classroom training, following a facilitator guide
