Job Summary

Bambee is a next generation HR company that is growing its team to keep up with its rapidly growing client base and expanding markets. The company is looking to hire a Director/VP, Product Management who will help expand and lead its rapidly growing product team. The role will be focused on product and feature prioritization, managing a team of product managers, and driving revenue via existing product adoption and new product verticalization. This role is expected to build deeply productive relationships with its peers in other functions and will report directly to the company’s Chief Product Officer.

You should think about the responsibilities of this role in three parts: (1) Product Lines, (2) Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) plus Teams, and (3) Business Economics, Business Model, and Revenue.

Primary Responsibilities

Part 1 - Product Lines

You should first think of solving product problems from the lens of the consumer and by leveraging data and logic.

This role will be responsible for building the product roadmap in partnership with the CPO and driving all product initiatives forward. The company has proven its ability to acquire and retain customers with our current product. Through servicing our clients, the company has a laundry list of products that are ready to be developed and launched, not to mention the many other product opportunities that exist within the marketplace. The ideal Director/VP candidate and his or her team of product managers will be able to speak to our consumers, understand the product need, and develop robust yet simple products around Bambee’s two primary product lines: (1) The Bambee consumer product that our clients subscribe to, for both the employers and their employees, and (2) Honey, the “back office” product that is utilized by our in-house HR Managers which aims to create maximum efficiency.

Part 2 - Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) plus Teams

This role will be focused on managing the day-to-day of product development, helping the CPO to define and prioritize work and seamlessly working across other teams in the company to achieve company goals. Efficient collaboration is critical in this role. The ideal candidate will excel at team management and cross-functional collaboration, developing and building relationships with multiple team stakeholders.

The Product Management team is a high priority for the company and needs to be built out. This role will lead this initiative, recruiting and building this team nearly from scratch, developing the talent needed to push Bambee toward continuing to be an innovative “forget how things have been done in HR in the past” product thought leader in the space.

Efficient communication, collaboration, and partnership with the Engineering Team is of course a given.

Part 3 - Business Economics, Business Model, and Revenue

Ultimately, this role’s job is to build products that add consumer value and ultimately enterprise value for the company. That value is measured primarily in new revenue, increased share of wallet (selling more Bambee products to existing customers), engagement, and churn.

For this candidate to be successful, they must have a deep understanding and familiarity with subscription and SaaS models. This role should be able to develop a deep understanding of the company’s business model to best determine the economics.

Qualifications & Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred

• 5+ years of product management experience

• 2+ years of people management experience

• Demonstrated record of launching successful SaaS products; SMB experience preferred

• Deep experience with data and reporting infrastructure and features for internal and external use

• Track record of building software that is easy to use with exceptional user experience

• Experience with leading competitive research, customer research, and survey methods

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
