As the company scales, it is becoming increasingly critical to ensure their most important asset – the FabFitFun Team – is in the best position possible to succeed. The Director, Human Resources role is a newly created HR leadership opportunity. This Director position will guide our human resources function focusing on employee relations, leadership development, manager training, labor laws, and overall employee policies and procedures.
This HR role will be responsible to:
- Ensure team members are excited to come to work every day ready to produce results and make a positive difference
- Utilize all leadership training strategies, manage employee relation issues, and coach team leaders to be able to mentor and develop their staff
- Drive alignment between company values and HR programs and practices to create a best in class employee experience
- Assist with developing performance management and training programs to assist managers to supervise and motivate their direct reports and help employees grow their skill sets, and continuously improve their performance
- Foster a career growth model for all employees and ensuring a succession and retention plan within teams
- Develop, implement, communicate and consistently administer employee policies and procedures to advance the company objectives
- Work with Legal to ensure that policies and practices comply with all applicable laws, and when necessary investigate and direct FabFitFun responses to workplace complaints
- Create policies and understand risks for employee separation, including such aspects as consulting counsel, severance payments, protected classes, and policy on references
The most qualified candidate will have:
- 10+ years of proactive experience in human resources preferably with some exposure to high-growth, entrepreneurial environments
- Demonstrated skill in resolving employee relation issues and gaining employee confidence and trust
- Proven ability to thrive in an ever-evolving environment with success in coaching, empowering, and counseling managers and employees to develop within their team and advance their career
- Success in developing performance management and leadership development programs inclusive of team succession planning
- Experience with the broad spectrum of HR subject matters including: worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, discrimination (per state and federal), pregnancy, disability (ADA), age, gender, diversity, family and medical leave (state and federal), sexual harassment training, and EEOC reporting
- Experience with selecting, implementing and expanding HRIS software, staying abreast of recent technology innovations in the HR category
- Undergraduate degree required
