Director, Head of Talent Development

You will have the opportunity to partner with all business units and regional HR teams across the Match Group portfolio to drive key talent management strategies, including succession planning, performance management, and talent reviews. Reporting to the VP, People at Tinder, you will also be a critical member of Tinder’s People team, leading organizational L&D strategy and programs. The ideal candidate for this role has exceptional people skills as well as keen business acumen. Match Group Wide Responsibilities:

  • Partner with People teams and business leaders across all brands in the Match Group portfolio to define and improve talent management efforts and lead the end-to-end design and integration of various talent programs (including performance reviews, talent calibrations, succession planning, & leadership development programs)
  • Apply change management frameworks to assess readiness for change, align partners, create change champions and increase adoption of new programs and processes
  • Lead the global L&D strategy and partner with senior leaders across the business to identify key learning priorities shared across brands and build programs to deliver against needs, such as management training
  • Conduct needs assessment to determine the evolution of leadership and high potential programs across all Match Group brands and deliver programs to target needs
  • Partner with Global People Operations team to define systems requirements and lead implementation of global learning management and performance management systems
  • Partner with Global Diversity & Inclusion team to integrate inclusion strategies into talent development programs
  • Apply a data-driven approach to measuring the effectiveness of programs and continuously iterate to improve results
  • Manage L&D budget and annual forecasting, as well as managing the relationship with external consultants and vendor relationships including executive coaches and content providers
  • Market internal offerings and establish a regular communication cadence to help employees make the most of learning opportunities 

Tinder Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Tinder’s talent development team
  • Partner with senior leaders to deliver solutions that improve organizational effectiveness and people capabilities
  • Partner with Tinder’s HRBP team to manage change, drive process improvement, consult on org design, and help drive business goals and priorities forward
  • Oversee employee onboarding programs across all global Tinder offices and use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Design leadership offsites and team development workshops
  • Lead the engagement survey process, including analysis of insights, communicating results, and action planning
  • Lead ad-hoc projects as they relate to talent management and employee experience as needed

We're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, Leadership Development, OD or related field
  • Experience in leading and designing leadership development programs is a must
  • Experience with effectiveness and development tools such as DiSC, Hogan, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, etc.
  • Advising and relationship management skills
  • Strong instructional design, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and influence skills

Nice to haves:

  • Ph.D. or Masters Degree in OD, HR or other related fields
  • Workday HRIS experience, particularly with talent modules
  • Experience building learning programs in the tech industry
  • Experience with change management approaches and methodologies
  • Previous experience with Learning Management Systems

The Data Engineering team builds infrastructure to empower better decision-making for all teams at Tinder. We support Backend and Client engineers as they send billions of events daily to our pipeline, collaborate with Data Science and Analytics to architect solutions for quantitative analysis, and partner with Marketing to build reporting tools.
