Responsibilities
The Aerospace Corporation is searching for a Deputy Chief People Officer to provide leadership and direction for People Operations programs and initiatives. You will report to the Vice President, Chief People Officer (CPO), and ensure that our People strategy, operations, and initiatives enable our company to execute our mission and shape the future of space with the smartest people on the planet.
As our Deputy CPO, you have results to point to that have been achieved because of your business, strategic, and analytical mindset. You know how to get things done by establishing trust and credibility because you first and foremost seek to understand our mission. As the corporate champion for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), not only will you provide guidance, oversight, and support to an outstanding team of DE&I professions, you will effectively ensure DE&I initiatives are implemented company-wide and well-represent DE&I equities at senior-level meetings and discussions. You have a proven record of surrounding yourself with top-notch HR talent that you inspire and empower. In addition, your superpowers include change and transformational leadership, agility in the face of disruption, with the strength that comes from failures learned from and being humbled.
This position can be located in Chantilly Va, Crystal City, Va, Co Springs, Co, and El Segundo.
Key Functions:
Serve as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Officer for the company with oversight of our DE&I Office. In this role, you will ensure that DE&I is embedded across all people strategies, processes, programs, and decisions.
Working together with your HR and senior leader colleagues, seek to understand, evaluate, and develop new workforce strategies and solutions that address the effects of the disruptions that have taken place in 2020.
Provide Strategic People Partner support to the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.
Lead People Operations strategic and operational planning to achieve our organization and company objectives (both near and long-term).
Help us accelerate HR process maturation with a focus on organizational adoption while remaining committed to continuous improvement and agility to changing business and organizational conditions.
Collaborate with corporate senior leadership to understand, identify, develop, and deliver HR services and initiatives that will meet needs just-in-time and position us for the future.
Assist the CPO with the Board of Trustee preparation and management. This is a job perk – a bonified benefit (our esteemed Board consists of awe-inspiring people – past, present, and no doubt – in our future).
Required
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
Ten or more years of HR experience with at least five or more years as a human resources business partner working across all areas of HR with a geographically dispersed workforce.
Five or more years of experience in a senior leadership role accountable for enterprise-level HR programs and initiatives that include people, project, and budget management.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, project management, and presentation skills
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees, managers, and executives
Maintain awareness and understanding of current regulations, industry trends, current and best practices, new developments, and applicable state and federal employment laws.
Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to generate people and workforce analytics that enable data-informed decision making and solutions.
You are savvy to the external environment that impacts business, organization, and people strategies.
You have supported an organization going through rapid change and growth, have learned from your successes and failures, and embrace new opportunities to provide change leadership.
You thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven culture, driven by a desire to be innovative.

Ability to travel to Aerospace offices and customer locations as needed.
Preferred
MS, MA, MBA or like advanced degrees or certifications in Business, Human Resources or related field.
Certifications in organization design, change management, coaching, etc.
Experience with a highly technical company, working with rocket scientists and engineers.
