Chief People Officer 

Reformation is seeking a dynamic, strategic, hands on Chief People Officer leader to support our mission. This newly created role will lead all People & Culture functions across our 3 varying populations of Retail, Factory and Corporate employees.  Areas of responsibility include People Operations, Culture, Recruiting, Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion, Learning & Development, and Compensation. 

As a member of the Leadership team, the Chief People Officer will lead the creation of programs and infrastructure that will reinforce our operations and values, including creating a culture of diversity inclusion, learning & development, collaboration, and continuous improvement. As we continue to scale, many programs will be introduced for the first time, and the ideal candidate will have a growth mindset and bias towards action.

This role reports to the CEO and will work closely with the Leadership team.


What You’ll Do:

  • People Operations: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws affecting staff. Serve as a resource for conflict resolution and mediation related to key HR issues or questions. Conduct annual review of benefits providers and facilitate decision-making process, working with senior leadership/finance teams as necessary.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Create and implement the organizational systems by sourcing input from key stakeholders. This will cover process and policy improvements, leadership engagement, training,  communications and engagement activities and measurement as required. Work with leaders across the company and with external advisors to embed DE&I into all employee life touch-points, acting as the subject matter expert, and being accountable for the evolution of our DE&I strategy. Develop and track metrics to measure progress against our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy. Proactively champion the continued evolution of an inclusive culture in which everyone can thrive.
  • Culture and Engagement: Define, educate, and drive culture and rewards high performance throughout the organization through the creation and implementation of systems that are grounded in inclusion and equity.
  • Organizational Design: Develop scalable systems to advise leaders across the company on organizational design, competency models, leadership development, performance measurement, succession planning, and change management.
  • Learning Development: Lead the creation of L&D programs that prepare employees across the company to increase their responsibilities alongside the company's growth.
  • Recruiting: Support and guide the recruitment team to help create a brand that appeals to diverse applicants. Set a clear, compelling vision for attracting, developing, training and retaining exceptional talent. Oversee strategies focused on the recruitment of a diverse workforce, retention of employees who represented historically under-served or under-represented communities and populations, and equitable compensation across programs.
  • Compensation: Own the development and management of our compensation systems - our market analysis, pay structures, and benefits programs will evolve as well to constantly improve.
  • Team Leadership: Build and develop a people team to support the organization across all locations and functions.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Develop, communicate and roll out the key cyclical programs including performance reviews, talent and succession planning, team engagement surveys, development tools and action planning. Enable better work styles across teams and building environments that foster creativity and innovation. 


Who You Are:

  • You have led a People/ HR Team before and are comfortable doing so for a fast growth, multi-faceted business.
  • You know how to foster a culture of high performance and have experience tying individual/team performance to business results.
  • You are a proven leader for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A track record of strategic HR leadership success; your 15+ years of experience spans both private and public companies, high growth organizations, retail and manufacturing environments and DE&I.
  • Expertise in organizational design, performance management, leadership development, and succession planning
  • Experience in e-commerce/retail, manufacturing, or the services industry is preferred
  • Deep passion for people and culture, and a strong instinct for managing and developing talent
  • Data-driven leader who can connect workforce and business outcome
  • Constantly question the status quo and believe there is always a way we can continuously improve
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with multiple competing priorities
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
