Neogen is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to play a pivotal role within its Global Portfolio team, supporting the continued growth and performance of the Food Safety business. This senior-level role will lead and integrate multiple product portfolios, shaping strategic priorities, strengthening governance, and driving disciplined execution across global markets. Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional partners, you will help optimise portfolio performance, guide lifecycle decisions, and deliver market-leading outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-portfolio strategy, ensuring clear investment priorities, lifecycle balance, and alignment with Food Safety growth objectives.
  • Identify synergies, overlaps, and gaps across portfolios, developing robust business cases and recommendations for acceleration, rationalisation or reinvestment.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into portfolio roadmaps, resource requirements, revenue assumptions, budget recommendations and prioritised investment plans.
  • Oversee aggregate portfolio performance, including P&L outcomes, pricing discipline, margin improvement, launch performance and risk management.
  • Coach and support Portfolio Managers, strengthening strategic thinking, accountability, lifecycle management and execution standards.
  • Act as a key cross-functional partner for regional teams, Sales, R&D, Operations, Quality, Finance and Scientific Affairs to align innovation pipelines with market needs and business value.
Job Requirements
  • Significant experience in portfolio management, product management, commercial strategy or a related senior business role, ideally within food safety, life sciences, diagnostics, manufacturing or a technical B2B environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience with P&L ownership, revenue forecasting, pricing strategy, margin improvement and portfolio performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead portfolio planning, governance processes, business case development and lifecycle management across multiple product lines.
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in a global or matrixed organisation.
  • Strong analytical, strategic and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex market, financial and operational information into clear recommendations.
  • Experience coaching or leading product or portfolio management professionals, with a focus on performance, consistency and continuous improvement.
