Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. Summer 2026 Recruitment Timeline:

Summer 2026 Internship Program:

Operations & Technology: (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London.
Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
  • Global Security Operations, Digital Security: The Digital Security team engages talent and executive leadership directly on a weekly basis and as required during security events, an intern to this group will gain exposure to the impact of security controls and events on those groups. The major roadmap items are derived directly from the Long Range Plan to increase the resiliency of our brand ambassadors and journalists in the Journalist Protection Program, enable and utilize Artificial Intelligence capabilities and protect the brand in general. Currently Digital Security is responsible for Digital Footprint Management, Social Media Security/Digital Risk Protection and Support, Negative Sentiment and Harassment and High Risk Travel.
  • Global Security Operations, Global Intelligence Analysis: The GRIC is comprised of a GRIC Vice President, Regional Intelligence Analysts and 24x7 Security Operations Officers monitoring worldwide incidents. The intern reviews information from open/public sources, official sources, and professional contacts, and conducts timely, accurate, relevant, and creative assessments of international security issues. They will produce a range of written and verbal analyses for employees, correspondents, production staff and management of NBCUniversal, supporting the company's security and crisis management operations worldwide.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 - August 7, 2026.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
NBCUniversal is an E-Verify company, requiring all employees to have an active Social Security number. Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Open-source research capabilities; familiarity with social media platforms and digital communities for proactive intelligence gathering.
  • Experience in corporate security, cyber intelligence, military intelligence, or criminal investigations.
  • Prior exposure to case management systems and incident response workflows.
  • Experience on social media; investigations background; familiarity with OSINT tools.
  • Understanding of international affairs or counterterrorism in Middle East, Latin America, Eastern Europe or Asia desired. Foreign area knowledge and understanding of international affairs gained through study, travel, or work abroad.
  • Proficient in Spanish, Arabic or other foreign language desirable.
  • Data Analysis Skills.

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $22.00.
For Digital Security: The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00.
For Global Intelligence Analysis: The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $22.00.
