The Global Head of Sales Development is responsible for owning and scaling MinIO’s worldwide business development efforts focusing on driving inbound and outbound lead generation efforts to help the company scale. You'll be responsible for not only developing and executing our business development strategy but also mentoring the BDR team. You will be accountable for designing and executing a unified sales development strategy across regions, driving top-of-funnel growth, and building a best-in-class team that fuels revenue creation.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Generation & Sales Strategy:
    • Define and lead the global business development strategy for both inbound and outbound motions, aligned with corporate growth objectives.
    • Lead outreach campaigns, including cold calls, email marketing, and social media engagement.
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders including cloud architects, CTOs, AI/ML teams and decision-makers in target markets.
    • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activity, and potential areas for expansion.
  • Team Development & Leadership:
    • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing world-wide business development organization.
    • Set operational frameworks, KPIs, and scalable processes that enable consistent performance and pipeline conversion.
    • Recruit and develop top talent with a focus on leadership succession and bench strength.
  • Global Responsibility:
    • Own the company’s global business development efforts, tailoring strategies to different regions while ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
    • Build relationships with partners and customers across our 4 geographies, identifying new opportunities in untapped markets.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
    • Partner closely with marketing, sales, product, and customer success to ensure a unified approach to messaging, pipeline coverage, and customer engagement.
    • Provide data-driven insights to inform campaign performance, regional traction, and customer feedback loops.
  • Startup Mentality & Culture:
    • Bring a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving and execution.
    • Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and embrace the challenges of a growing startup.
    • Contribute to building and maintaining a positive and dynamic company culture.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, ideally within the tech, SaaS, or storage industries.
  • Proven track record in both inbound and outbound prospecting, including generating leads, sourcing meetings driving pipeline growth.
  • 3+ years leading and scaling global teams with direct ownership of pipeline generation and contribution to revenue targets.
  • Global experience and the ability to work across different cultures and markets.
  • Understanding of the object storage industry, cloud technologies, and data management trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with technical champions and business decision makers.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decisions and measure success.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a startup environment and is comfortable with a "wear many hats" mentality.
