Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Principal and Assistant Principals, the Front Desk & Attendance Manager serves as the first point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role is responsible for managing front office operations, student attendance processes, campus visitor management, and a wide range of administrative support functions for the high school administration team.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, calm under pressure, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesFront Desk & Office Operations
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls professionally
  • Screen and route calls appropriately
  • Welcome and assist visitors, students, and families
  • Maintain campus security procedures and visitor management protocols
  • Monitor security cameras and maintain visitor logs
  • Notify appropriate personnel when guests arrive on campus
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and deliveries
  • Support calendar coordination and scheduling as needed
  • Schedule facilities and repair requests for faculty and administrators
  • Coordinate copy machine maintenance and supply requests
  • Manage projects for the Assistant Principal of Student Affairs, including sorting, filing, and collating materials
  • Oversee the school bell and PA announcement systems, including special schedule adjustments
  • Maintain office and classroom supply inventory, including Scantrons and copy machine supplies
  • Issue student work permits
  • Participate in emergency drills and campus safety procedures
  • Provide additional administrative support to Assistant Principals as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Attendance Management
  • Manage daily student attendance processes and records
  • Maintain detailed logs of parent communication regarding absences and tardies
  • Prepare daily sign-in and sign-out sheets
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for emergency preparedness
  • Prepare dismissal slips for students leaving campus early
  • Notify teachers and administration of attendance discrepancies
  • Investigate and report situations in which a student marked present becomes unaccounted for
  • Communicate with residence hall staff to verify absences and tardies for boarding students
  • Run and distribute daily attendance reports by the end of second block
  • Track faculty attendance and sign-out logs
  • Arrange substitute coverage and prepare semi-monthly substitute payroll reports
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of proper office procedures and telephone etiquette
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with school systems such as Naviance and TologNet preferred
  • Understanding of California student records regulations and confidentiality requirements
  • Front office or receptionist experience preferred, ideally in a school setting
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements for typing and data entry
  • Strong verbal communication, hearing, and visual abilities required
  • Ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions and multiple simultaneous demands
Compensation & Benefits

FSHA offers a competitive hourly range of $22.00–$26.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
