Job Description:
We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our team! This role will lead core financial planning and analysis activities, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and the development of advanced financial models that guide revenue, expense, and profitability insights for 1847Financial, subsidiary of Penn Mutual.
You will partner closely with business and distribution leaders to deliver data‑driven analysis, strategic reporting, and clear financial guidance that supports operational decision‑making, field performance, and enterprise growth. The role strengthens financial systems and reporting capabilities, drives standardization, and supports key strategic initiatives, while providing ad hoc analysis and high‑impact financial insights for senior leadership and board‑level materials.

Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for corporate and field distribution units.
- Build, maintain, and improve robust financial models to forecast revenue, commissions, operating expenses, headcount, and profitability.
- Partner with business leaders to align financial forecasts with operational strategies and business initiatives.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including KPI dashboards, variance analysis, trend reports, and executive level summaries.
- Analyze financial performance for firms, financial professional compensation structures, product revenue channels, and expense categories.
- Identify business risks, emerging trends, and opportunities for revenue optimization or cost efficiencies.
- Act as a finance partner to distribution leaders, field offices, and operational management.
- Provide data driven insights that support recruiting, productivity improvement, territory expansion, and financial professional retention efforts.
- Educate nonfinance stakeholders on financial concepts to support better decision making.
- Support the implementation or optimization of financial systems, BI tools, and data automation.
- Drive standardization of reporting and analytical approaches across the organization.
- Support strategic initiatives such as new compensation design, geographic expansion analysis, product profitability, and cost benefit evaluations.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses for senior leadership and contribute to board level reporting materials.
Skills and Abilities
- A strong knowledge of financial professional and field leadership compensation models and contracts.
- A strong knowledge of life insurance and annuity distribution profit and loss and wealth management profit and loss.
- Excellent project management skills
- The ability to effectively analyze data and provide business insights
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook; advanced knowledge of Excel required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding collaboration and relationship building skills
- The ability to work independently with minimal direction
Education
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required and
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience
- 5-7 Years
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a financial analysis role
- Strong working knowledge of life insurance products and concepts required
- Strong working knowledge of wealth management financial professional compensation.
- Strong knowledge of firm financial structures required
Licenses
- FINRA Series 7 Preferred
- FINRA Series 24 Preferred
- FINRA Series 63 Preferred
Base Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000
