Role Description
We are looking for an experienced and efficient VP, Finance & Operations to oversee and lead internal operations and procedures responsible for the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth. You will assist with all functions of scaling the business including establishing growth and engagement KPIs.

You will work alongside the founders to execute the company vision, put procedures and resources in place to promote scaling. 

This role requires you to wear many different hats while working alongside an extremely high-caliber team in a very fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the organization to meet business goals and projections 
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures, and set comprehensive goals for performance and growth 
  • Measure and report on operational performance and develop plans to improve relevant key performance indicators and communicating them to the sales and executive team
  • Empower the operational team with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete operation initiatives while providing clear direction
  • Oversee cost-controlling functions and efficiencies
  • Provide financial analysis, business modeling, and forecasting
  • Coach and manage team members to encourage maximum engagement, performance, and dedication; and establish policies that promote company culture and vision
  • Manage individual performance by establishing annual operating objectives for each employee with quarterly reviews. Also, create a yearly development plan for each employee and provide ongoing coaching 
  • Partner with other company leaders to accomplish short and long-term operational goals 
  • Develop and champion change initiatives in a performance based environment; and evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics 
  • Participate in expansion activities and manage relationships with partners/vendors 
  • Support fundraising strategy including creation and maintenance of pitch decks, creating and adjusting financial forecasts, due diligence processes, and pitching & networking with investors and potential partners 
  • Participate in correspondence with the board of directors, internal reporting, and budget management
  • Work with our sales team to manage and improve existing sales processes using CRM technology and training

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA is highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of operational and finance experience in leadership roles ideally within an early-stage startup
  • Proven track record of effectively scaling operational processes and teams 
  • Thorough understanding and experience of the full range of business functions and systems including product, engineering, marketing science, strategic development and planning
  • Strong understanding of FP&A and previous experience within a metrics-driven, analytical organization
  • Strong understanding of SaaS Unit Economics and what constitutes high levels of growth / healthy business ratios 
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset that translates into effective decision making and problem solving
  • Strong people manager with ability to inspire employees to live up to their potential and optimize their productivity 
  • Proven experience in a relevant role growing an early stage Seed/Series A startup to $10MM+ ARR ideally for a SaaS company
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc. 
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and business development 
  • Deliver agreed performance within budget. Performance includes P&L and customer satisfaction targets 
  • Experience and success in preparing for, negotiating and closing equity capital raises 
  • Expertise in defining and scaling operational processes within the SaaS space for growth and profitability
  • Managing multiple projects in a manner that focuses on the team and drives results 
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team 
  • Previous experience in a relevant role with a startup in the SaaS, data visualization, data science, and/or data warehousing space is a plus.
