Vice President, Finance
Bird is a last-mile electric vehicle sharing company dedicated to bringing safe, low-cost, environmentally-friendly transportation solutions to communities across the world. We provide a fleet of electric, shared scooters that can be accessed via smartphone. Bird is headquartered in Venice, California and is rapidly expanding across the country and the world.
The VP of Finance will build a team, strategy, and culture to lead finance and accounting in a global, hyper growth environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will provide financial perspective & accountability to the business while leading specific functions ranging from planning & accounting to tax & fundraising. This person should be comfortable operating with extremely high standards while also supporting a business that is scaling globally with high innovation and capital requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Hire & build Finance & Accounting team from scratch
- Full ownership of the company's financial plan (regular updates and adjustments to the detailed financial model and communication of key elements to senior management)
- Lead the analysis and execution of capital raising activities
- Communicate and present the company’s financial results to relevant audiences (e.g.: company updates, investor updates, board updates & materials, etc.)
- Lead all accounting functions, including cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory, royalties, revenue, GL, and all regulatory reporting requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate administration of stock option and RSU programs and maintain the corporate capitalization table
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare functional budgets, forecasts, and tracking reports including explanation of variances
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another quantitative field required
- CPA (doesn’t need to be Active), MBA, or other advanced degree preferred
- Significant fundraising experience required, IPO experience is a plus
- Experience scaling either hardware or software start ups is required, both is a plus
- 15+ years of progressive work experience in accounting and finance
- Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, forecasting, analysis and financial reporting
