Technical Accounting Manager

We are looking for a Technical Accounting Manager to join the Controllership Department at our West Hollywood HQ. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter who will be our technical accounting subject matter expect.
What You’ll Do:
- Work cross functionally with key stakeholders across the organization to identify and properly account for transactions. Analyze accounting issues and prepare memorandums based on research and analysis of authoritative and interpretative guidance.
- Serve as the project manager for the Controllership special projects, including acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and new business initiatives. Assess the financial implications of proposed transactions, including developing pro-forma financial information.
- Utilize technical expertise to assess and recommend deal structures and contract terms.
- Oversee financial valuation models. Coordinate valuations with our 3rd party valuation firm.
- Assess existing accounting policies and recommend changes to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Create and maintain an accounting manual.
- Monitor the development of new accounting standards, including their potential impact on the financial statements. Lead implementation of new accounting standards, including implementation of new processes, systems, and training programs.
- Manage the quarterly and annual financial statement audit process, statutory audits, and the benefit plan audit.
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Account for stock-based compensation; including maintaining master data, accounting for modifications, recording quarterly expense, and documenting quarterly disclosure.
- Perform the quarterly investment accounting, including equity method investments and VIEs.
What You'll Bring:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required (Finance, Accounting, Economics, preferred).
- An active CPA License.
- Strong leadership, decision making, and technical skills.
- Public Accounting Experience (Big 4 Preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Consumer Products experience preferred.
