About the Role
GoodRx is seeking a smart and effective Tax Manager to join our Accounting team. This individual will be the organization’s first tax hire and will be placed into a dynamic role in a high growth finance function. The ideal candidate will report to the VP Controller and be able to work closely with accounting, legal, and operations to manage all tax projects as well as take on roles outside of their core responsibility such as supporting our treasury and stock administration functions.
Responsibilities:

• Manage our tax calendar to ensure compliance for all federal, state and local filing obligations
• Collaborate with accounting, finance and other business units to compile all necessary information for federal and state returns
• Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returns, including extensions and estimated payment calculations
• Prepare and annual and quarterly tax provision workpapers including footnote disclosures
• Prepare and/or review earnings and profits calculations
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on timing/deliverables of compliance and advisory services
• Assistance with tax research and planning to minimize tax burden, while considering various business scenarios, working on projects to maintain and reduce the Company's effective tax rate and cash taxes.
• Draft tax technical memorandums; ensure proper documentation for return positions and transactions
• Assist in the management of special tax projects related to business initiatives such as the R&D credit, accounting methods analysis, tax reform and structuring 
• Manage all incoming tax notices and audits from various tax authorities and work with tax advisors as necessary
• Prepare sales and use, property, state/local and other regulatory tax returns
• Provide timely and quality support to other departments
• As an added bonus, this this role will also be responsible for supporting our treasury, stock option program, and other operational functions 
  

Skills & Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of Big 4 tax accounting experience is required; 1-2 years of corporate tax is a plus
• Strong understanding of federal and state corporate income tax laws, apportionment methodologies, and state nexus issues 
• Experience managing external tax advisors
• Extremely organized and autonomous
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong desire to broaden/build skills
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to frame communications appropriate to audience
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and data tools
• Bachelor’s degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting from a major university; Master’s is a big plus
• Active CPA license
