Medely is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. You will participate in the monthly accounting close process ensuring accurate and timely reporting. You will prepare journal entries, supporting monthly schedules, and reporting packages. You will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager and partner with members of various departments on adhoc, value-added projects. You will play an integral role in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company’s financial accounting controls, processes, records, and systems. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, reliable, committed to consistently meeting deadlines and willing to "roll up their sleeves." This is a key role within the Accounting team and provides a great opportunity for professional growth.





Responsibilities will evolve over time but will initially include:

  • Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all monthly accounting financial information
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations (e.g. cash, debt, fixed assets, prepaids), accruals, and intercompany transactions
  • Own the AP process which includes managing the AP inbox, obtaining approvals, and accurately coding invoices within our accounting system
  • Drive process improvements and contribute to exciting accounting transformation projects to achieve scalability and efficiency across processes and workflows.
  • Support audit requests related to specific areas of responsibility
  • Handle special projects, taking full responsibilities for the successful and timely completion of the project

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in Accounting roles, experience in both public and private accounting preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Strong project management skills and ability to effectively prioritize work in a high-growth environment 
  • Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency using and creating Pivot Tables, Sumifs, and VLOOKUP

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Public company and/or startup experience is a plus (Big 4 Experience preferred)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus
  • Ability to be flexible and resourceful in response to changing priorities and needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Enthusiastic, upbeat, and positive with the ability to stay calm in the face of uncertainty and hyper growth

In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected base salary range for this role in Colorado is $65,000 to $70,000 annually.

This position may be eligible for additional compensation and benefits including: equity, bonus, health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave and benefits. Actual compensation will be determined by experience and other factors permitted by law. Connecticut, Ohio, Rhode Island, Nevada, NYC, Maryland and Washington all have compensation laws typically requiring that the compensation is disclosed after the first round of interviews.
