You’ll Report To: Supervisor, Accounting

A typical day as a Staff Accountant might include:

  • Revenue Accounting and A/R: Day-to-day accounting processes related to the A/R subledger, preparation of revenue recognition entries and ensuring that revenue is recorded timely, accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
  • Month-end close: Participate in month-end processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations of accounts.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Track and analyze large volumes of financial data using Excel, with the ability to provide useful information based on analysis
  • Process Improvements: Identify opportunities to improve business processes and related systems. Assist implementation efforts as required.
  • Special Projects: This could involve creating processes for new services or new management reporting initiatives, etc.
  • Audit Support: Serve on the audit support team for external auditors to ensure all information is provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • SOX and Controls: Prepare and maintain documentation of accounting processes for Sarbanes-Oxley purposes. Assist SOX internal control reviews.

You’ll be successful if you are interested in developing and enhancing your skill set in revenue recognition, and learning the business of media advertising.

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred; CPA candidate a plus.
  • Qualified candidates will have 1-3 years of progressive work experience. Accounting and financial analysis experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to research discrepancies and solve problems.
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Aptitude for data mining and manipulation, and utilizing multiple data sources to create basic and advanced reports.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel is required.
  • Oracle Financials experience is a plus
  • Strong team player who works well in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Willing to work extra hours during quarter-end and year-end closes in order to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills for interacting with internal and external customers and business partners.
  • Not afraid to wear multiple hats - no job being too small or too large.
