Sr Manager, Revenue Accounting

The ideal candidate is passionate about the Ritual brand and has a strong business acumen combined with a solid accounting background. This candidate will develop and lead revenue accounting processes to optimize the month-end close operations and partners with cross-functional teams to drive scalable accounting operation solutions for month-end close activities.
What You’ll Do:
Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance to US GAAP (ASC 606) and internal revenue recognition policy
Conduct and lead monthly close process for revenue-related areas
Apply revenue recognition standards to accurately reconcile transactions related to gross-to-net revenue, cost of goods sold, and related reserves at a line-item SKU level across all channels and geographies
Ensure proper recording and reconciling of orders through to cash including reconciliation of third party receivables and revenue related accounts (deferred revenue, gift card liability, store credit liability, refund reserves and return assets, etc).
Record and reconcile indirect sales tax (sales tax, VAT, GST) on a monthly basis, in partnership with the Accounting Manager.
Partner with Engineering, Data and Customer teams on testing and delivery of revenue system solutions ensuring customer data is recorded accurately.
Partner with Business Development and Retail teams to ensure new arrangements or partnerships maintain compliance with ASC 606
Develop and refine business processes and operating procedures to properly account for revenue and contra-revenue transactions
Work closely with external auditors
Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as needed

What You Need:
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
Experience: 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with revenue accounting and related balance sheet reconciliations. Experience with different revenue channels such as direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and retail; mixed experience in public accounting and private industry preferred.
Understands the order-to-cash cycle and is able to improve current processes and workpapers
Advanced excel skills and comfortable working with large datasets
Strong understanding and experience working with US GAAP, ASC 606, and SOX 404
Experience in writing technical memos or accounting policies
Experience with Netsuite and CPA license strongly preferred
Enjoys working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
