FabFitFun is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to partner with the Payroll Manager and join our rapidly growing team! This position is new to the organization, created to own and oversee the payroll operations for 600+ employees. As a member of our payroll team you’ll be involved in the final phase of workday implementation, creating new payroll processes, and training employees. Our ideal candidate will work best in a high growth, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment, who is an effective collaborator with a strong focus on attention to detail.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and process multi-state bi-weekly payroll in Workday for +600 employees
- Ensure that all non-exempt employee timesheets are approved by supervisors in a timely fashion, and that timesheet data is processed accurately, including calculation of shift differentials and overtime pay
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Manage the preparation of annual W-2 and related tax filings, as well as any other regulatory requirements.
- Provide support for external audits
- Research and resolve discrepancies with employee earnings, deductions and all other payroll and systems related issues
- Calculate and process manual checks
- Partner with Payroll Manager with 401(k) and workers' compensation audits
- Research, analyze, and resolve all discrepancies, reporting to management as needed
- Play a key role in new hire orientation, new hire paperwork, terminations and employee changes
- Run ad-hoc payroll reports
- Assist with accounting/general ledger functions as it relates to payroll, including payroll journal entries, accruals and other month-end close functions
- Assure confidentiality and security of payroll records
- Stay abreast of current legislation and market trends affecting payroll and make recommendations accordingly
- Identify ways to streamline and improve payroll processes and efficiencies
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business preferred or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience processing payroll
- Experience with Workday, a plus
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
- Able to thrive in a fast- paced environment
- Ability to conduct training sessions
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience creating pivot tables, VLOOKUP and capable of handling volume of data
- High degree of professionalism
- Ability to maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by producing accurate payrolls and keeping information confidential
- Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
- Ability to communicate with various levels of management
- Strong decision-making, organizational, problem-solving, manage multi task, and analytical skills
- Processing international payroll and new payroll system implementation experience, a plus
