POSITION SUMMARY

As Senior Manager, Accounting, reporting to the Controller, you will help develop core operation processes within Accounting. This role will oversee general accounting functions. You will be hands-on, understand accounting operations, and have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. You will also play an important leadership role in the Accounting organization around change management, improving processes, scaling accounting company infrastructure, and operations.

THE SENIOR MANAGER, ACCOUNTING HAS FIVE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Take ownership of and direct monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
2. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and prepare flux analysis for various G/L accounts
3. Oversee all aspects of accounts payable operations,  accounting for deferred acquisition costs, inter-company transactions and other key expense areas
4. Provide support on the launch of new products/business initiatives, external audits and ad hoc requests
5. Collaborate with the FP&A function on KPI’s and budget to actual analysis

SOME YEAR 1 DELIVERABLES

• Reduce the numbers of days to close to 4 business days
• Support/build accounting processes around the launch of new products
• Support completion of annual audit on determined timelines

EXPERIENCE

• Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting 
  • Experience leading accounting operations, monthly accounting close, and preparation of financial reports
  • Demonstrated experience creating process efficiencies and improvements around month-end close and dependent processes. 
  • Experience leading and developing a team of accounting professionals
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

• Nice to Have
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting with at least 4 years in public accounting
  • Experience scaling an accounting team to support an evolving business infrastructure
  • NetSuite experience  
  • CPA (or equivalent) license
