WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Reporting to the General Accounting Manager the Senior GL Accountant will be responsible for supporting the month-end close and pro-actively ensuring accounting processes are compliant with global policies and procedures, within an effective internal control environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Support the general ledger month-end close process of US GAAP based books ensuring all reporting deadlines and controls policies are met
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts including Fixed Assets, Prepaid Assets, Accrued Liabilities and Deferred Rent
  • Maintain Fixed Asset schedules
  • Review contracts for SaaS and Fixed Asset Software contracts, focusing on determination of proper accounting treatment
  • Work cross-functionally with the FP&A, SEC Reporting, SOX, and Tax teams, serving as a reliable knowledge source for assigned areas
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, including performing accounting research when needed
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects, as necessary
  • Adhere to and provide thorough documentation of SOX processes and controls related to the General Ledger and related processes
  • Assist with annual external audit, quarterly reviews, and other audits as necessary
  • Work successfully with the broader Finance team in a dynamic and highly collaborative team environment

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • At least 2 years of experience with a public accounting firm and 1 year of experience in an accounting department at a publicly traded international company
  • A four-year degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including ability to stay up to date on new pronouncements and the ability to perform accounting research
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks for varying stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • CPA certification a plus
  • Experience with an ERP System, Oracle Cloud experience a plus
  • Understanding of Lease Accounting standards (current and upcoming) a plus

Experience with accounting for SaaS contracts a plus
