Senior Financial Operations Analyst
OVERVIEW:
The Senior Financial Operations Analyst works independently but alongside the Vice President and Director, Financial Operations to regularly measure and improve the performance of the business. The individual will take an active role in reviewing both system design and transactional data to optimize Stamps.com’s business practices, working closely with third-party vendors and Stamps.com’s own development, product design, Business Intelligence, and Tier 2/3 technical support teams to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and profitability of our systems.
TEAM OVERVIEW:
The Financial Operations group at Stamps.com is responsible for making sure money is properly collected from and credited to the hundreds of thousands of customers of Stamps.com and its subsidiaries. This includes automated recurring billing and invoice generation, payment processing, credit extension, fraud prevention and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Objectives:
- Revenue optimization
- Revenue collection
- Design reporting to represent multi-stage financial flows (e.g. prepayment, expense, adjustment)
- Billing design for new products and services
Essential Position Duties:
Revenue optimization
- Perform strategic revenue analysis and make recommendations to leadership to optimize and maximize revenue growth
- Extracting financial data from various e-commerce and reporting systems within the company
- Ad hoc financial analysis
- Preparing periodic reporting for senior management
Revenue collection
- Executing recurring revenue collection functions
- Working with BI & software development teams to automate collections and reporting processes
- Preparing periodic reporting for senior management
Design reporting to represent multi-stage financial flows (e.g. prepayment, expense, adjustment)
- Develop payment flows models for newly launched products
- Identify raw data sources
- Build summary reports and visualizations to characterize performance and growth
Billing design for new products and services
- Design payment collection methodology
- Simplify accounting where possible
- Risk management around services billed in arrears
Additional Position Duties:

- Utilize wrist and hands for a prolonged period of time

- Speaking and conversing with others
- Lift up to 25lbs without assistance up to chest height
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent field.
- Minimum Six (6) years of post-graduation experience in accounting, e-commerce, or financial analysis, or software development for accounting, e-commerce, or financial analysis
- Prior experience with a programming language.
- e-Commerce and or Logistics experience a plus
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to explain advanced concepts at different levels within the organization
- Excellent analytical and technical financial skills
- Ability to quickly identify and evaluate business risks and concerns and apply appropriate techniques to assist in resolving them.
- Ability to work alongside other management personnel to achieve high levels of operating performance.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade through personal credibility, integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people.
Computer/Software/Application Proficiency:
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookup, and reference functions)
- Working knowledge of SQL including joins
- R or Python a plus
