Job objective: This is an exciting role in a growing company. In this role you will work closely with a talented accounting team to develop and manage all aspects of cost accounting, including the creation and development of cost account strategies and processes.

Duties:

• Develop the cost accounting strategy including standard cost vs actual cost
• Assist in monitoring and managing of day-to-day cost accounting function including Raw material, Work-in-process and Finished goods inventory management
• Accumulate and apply overhead and allocated costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
• Calculate inventory reserves
• Support month-end close with journal entries, reconciliations, reviewing schedules, and providing supporting documentation
• Development of the costing methodology and KPI reporting for inventory & management cost reporting
• Monitor and perform variance analysis of monthly operating results against budget
• Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts
• Assist with development of new tools, processes, procedures, and systems in support of continuous improvement
• Create flow of inventory in new ERP system
• Other Ad Hoc duties & responsibilities as assigned

 Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 
• 5+ years of experience as a Cost Accountant
• US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)

Desired Qualifications

• Startup experience and/or Defense/Aerospace/Military experience
• CPA Preferred
• Experience with ERP system implementation
• Good written, oral communication and analytical skills
• A self-starter capable of collaborating across all levels of the organization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
