System1 is seeking a self-motivated dynamic individual to serve as the Senior Accountant. In this role you will be responsible for preparation of journal entries and related supporting documentation. In addition, you will work on accounting and consolidation reports. You should have a strong background in working for technology companies and all aspects of accounting for this type of business. You will ensure the timeliness of monthly, quarterly and year end closes and consolidations as well as other primary accounting duties.

As part of our accounting team, this position will play a critical role in System1’s operations department. You will be working alongside our exceptional accounting team.

The Role You Will Have:

Prepare journal entries and related supporting documentation
Ensure timeliness of monthly, quarterly and year-end closes and consolidations
Ensure GL accounts are reconciled and variances are investigated on a timely basis
Prepare/Review reconciliations prepared by Accounting team
Prepare balance sheet and P&L fluxes
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
Assist in the interim and annual audits by ensuring audit request are executed in a timely manner.
Perform ad hoc requests and special projects on an ongoing basis.
Proactively identify process improvements to help the company scale in our fast growth environment.

What You Will Bring:

3+ years of combined work experience in external audit or corporate accounting
Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
CPA or CPA candidate
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Current Oracle ERP experience is a plus
Strong analytical and organizational skill

Mattick recently took a course through Coursera on machine learning, and the timing could not have been better. He was able to balance his work at System1 with assignments and studying, and now, he’s implementing what he learned on the job. Currently, he and the data science team are working on an algorithm to optimize System1’s advertising on a new network. Their custom-built machine learning infrastructure makes it easy to deploy new algorithms and track performance.

Because our infrastructure is built for our needs, we are able to iterate, make more complex models and adapt to future requests quickly. It’s very rewarding!
