We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. This is a GL accounting role, with a heavy focus on revenue and receivables. This person will manage the day-to-day operations of A/R and billing, as well as processing and verifying invoices and requisitions for services.
This position will:
- Generate and send out invoices according to contracts and insertion orders
- Monitor customer account details for non-payment, delayed payments and other irregularities
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries and invoice issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers via phone and email to expedite collections
- Verify bank deposits and post to customer accounts
- Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines
- Processes and verify applications for credit
- Monthly reconciliation of revenue accounts
- Maintain our billing system
Additionally, this position will:
- Assist in completing month-end close within 7 business days, which includes posting journal entries and reconciling the corresponding balance sheet accounts
- Prepare various account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly and year end basis
- Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies
- Perform analysis of account balances
- Prepare financial schedules for year-end financial audit, taxes and bank audits
- Perform ad-hoc projects as assigned
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed
Skills and experience required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years of experience in Revenue Accounting, Accounts Receivable or relevant Accounting role. Public accounting background a plus, but not required.
- MS Office – must have strong working knowledge of Excel; knowledge of Word and PowerPoint a plus
- Knowledge of NetSuite a plus
- General knowledge of accounting and understanding of general ledger accounts within the accounts receivable setting
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask, set own priorities and adapt to a changing environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and meet deadlines
- CPA (or working towards) preferred, but not required
