Company Overview:

Relativity is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. Disrupting 60 years of aerospace, Relativity offers a radically simplified supply chain, building a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. Our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity’s industrial base on Earth and on Mars.

Team:

Supply Chain at Relativity Space is responsible for optimizing the end-to-end network of organizations, activities, and resources required to convert materials and hardware into entirely 3D-printed launch vehicles. Being both an internal and external facing function, we closely partner with an extensive number of groups to develop the operational strategies, processes, and tools that are utilized to fulfill end-customer demand for our launch services. As the Manager, Indirect Procurement, you will build both the operating model and the team required to establish a world-class indirect procurement function, as well as drive sourcing strategies and activities for mission critical procurements across a multitude of commodities.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide immediate indirect procure-to-pay support – RFx, Negotiations, Contract Management, Vendor Payment Resolution – to cross-functional stakeholders within Capital Equipment/Ground Support Equipment, Construction, Facilities, Information Technology, and Professional Services commodities.
  • Analyze both historical spend data and future spend forecasts to construct an indirect commodity hierarchy that will underpin procurement strategy and operations, quantify near-term spend performance opportunities, and act as input to organizational roadmap.
  • Develop immediate- and long-term business process architecture for indirect procure-to-pay operations from contract/purchase request through to payment and contract expiration.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Application Systems to incorporate indirect procurement process architecture into current-state digital solutions (i.e., ERP).
  • Conduct ‘Make vs. Buy’ analysis on an indirect sourcing pipeline tool and drive discovery through implementation alongside Supply Chain Leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Support the composition of an ‘Indirect Procurement Policy’ in collaboration with Supply Chain Leadership and key stakeholders.

What you need to know:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Engineering, or similar.
  • 7+ years of working in an indirect procurement role within a fast-pace manufacturing or technology environment.
  • 2+ years of working as a people manager.
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Equipment/Ground Support Equipment markets.
  • Incredibly strong knowledge of fundamental Strategic Sourcing principles.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise applications (i.e., PLM, ERP, P2P, MES) and data analysis applications/tools (i.e., MS Excel, SQL, Tableau).

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, or similar.
  • Experience supporting high-growth manufacturing organizations as an indirect procurement leader.
  • Provide immediate indirect procure-to-pay support – RFx, Negotiations, Contract Management, Vendor Payment Resolution – to cross-functional stakeholders within Capital Equipment/Ground Support Equipment, Construction, Facilities, Information Technology, and Professional Services commodities.

An Insider's view of Relativity Space

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Our office is very interesting--from the large and colorful art pieces on the walls to the large (and small) rocket parts all over. We also have screens all over that are casting live streams of our testing and manufacturing floor. You just feel like you are seeing the future of manufacturing unfold right before your eyes.

Nat

Lead Recruiter

What is your vision for the company?

We are creating an entirely re-imagined process to iterate and scale rockets quickly, eventually helping to build the future of humanity in space.

Tim

CEO and Co-Founder

What are some things you learned at the company?

I've never been at a company before that has so valued recruiting and the candidate experience in all stages of the interview process, from initial contact to even past onboarding. Everyone here respects each others' time and takes hiring very seriously. We have a high bar, but that means we've also cultivated a very talented team!

Samantha

Talent Operations Coordinator
