Manager, Accounting
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager to join Snap Inc! Working closely with Accounting team and various cross functional teams, you will manage a team, analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions, and optimize processes for efficient and accurate data flow. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with these, and other business partners daily to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.
What you’ll do:
Manage a team of 2-3 accounting professionals, including day to day management, talent reviews, and goal setting/development plans
Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for areas as assigned, ensuring high work product and level of detail
Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
Review account reconciliations and account activity analysis
Assess, research and document appropriate US GAAP treatment for various transactions within the business
Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX
Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as periodic internal audits
Identify and drive process improvement or other projects
Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in accounting or finance
6+ years of experience as an accounting professional
2+ years managing a team
CPA License
Preferred qualifications:
Big 4 firm experience
Fortune 500 and/or private company experience
Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Netsuite, etc.)
Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ability to document accounting conclusions
Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills, and superior attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
Exceptional analytical skills, including Excel
A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
