Aspiration is looking for an Investment Operations Manager to join our growing team. The core competencies of this position are centered on industry knowledge (RIA and or BD), product requirements gathering, project management, people management and communication. In this role, you will drive the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of investment projects and capabilities within Operations and across the company. You are a great facilitator able to build bridges between teams and people, and you communicate status clearly, concisely, and accurately.

What You'll Do

  • Providing input to strategic decisions surrounding, and create a roadmap toward, the ideal investment operational structure for Aspiration as a RIA / BD Hybrid
  • Developing and organizing new and existing programs and processes to support the strategic direction of the organization, focused around support and growth of investment products
  • Working with operations management to create and manage long-term goals, budgets and operating plans
  • Managing day to day operations of our investments business, from managing the Investment Operations Specialists to our business partners
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Determine and manage project scope; create clear and attainable project objectives and build the project requirements
  • Maintaining a steady communication cadence with internal stakeholders regarding project issues and decisions
  • Managing expectations and assumptions, solve issues, and resolve conflict that can negatively impact the success of your programs/projects
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
  • Analyzing program risks and proactively assigning team resources to mitigate them
  • Communicating day-to-day with our critical financial partners, and with internal stakeholders
  • Supporting a number of direct reports via coaching, leadership and cross-site culture building
  • Recommending improvements to efficiency, quality and customer experience by quickly documenting business cases, when investments are necessary to achieve them
  • Escalate to senior management whenever decisions must be made that will alter deliverables
  • Acting at all times in a manner that is ethical and aligned with the regulatory obligations of the firm, and our partners
  • A variety of other duties aligned with your unique skills, as our firm and its needs expand and evolve

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years experience working in a RIA and/or BD with a broad set of responsibilities leading to a ‘big picture’ understanding of what is necessary to operate them successfully
  • Strong familiarity and working experience with mutual fund operations, experience with Cash Management Account operations
  • 3 - 5 years experience working in a role involving team leadership, project management, product management, enterprise risk management, or using equivalent skills in financial services
  • 3 - 5 years progressive experience demonstrating professionalism, growth and trustworthiness
  • Demonstrated investment and excellence in formal or informal learning and development, equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
  • Entrepreneurial - you do what it takes to achieve our goals, without having someone telling you what to do
  • Curiosity – when your work is finished, you are driven to enrich yourself and your team by learning and applying new things
  • A functional understanding of banking and investment products
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional reading, writing, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with personal computers and business productivity software
  • Active Series 6, 63, and/or 99

  • Additional certifications and professional designations, including Series 7 and 66
  • Experience in FinTech or working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellence in business productivity software (Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Bookkeeping & Accounting Solutions)
  • Advanced proficiency with cloud-based business intelligence, project management, content management or case management software
  • Demonstrated and substantial success in mentoring peers, building processes, creating business value, or creating uniquely fantastic customer experiences at scale; bonus if any of these were in a financial services environment
