Who we are

Albert is a new type of financial service that uses powerful technology to automate your finances, with a team of human experts to guide you. Our geniuses find savings you’re missing, identify bills you’re overpaying, help you pay down debt faster, save automatically for you, and much more. Text Albert a financial question, and we’ll not only offer guidance; we’ll help you make it happen.

We’re an LA-based startup with a proven business model, backed by top tier institutional investors, and over 8 million users who have trusted Albert to help them achieve their financial goals. We’re on a mission to improve the financial lives of millions of people with a simple, beautifully designed product, and we’re looking for thoughtful, talented people to join us on our journey.

About the role

Albert Genius, our flagship product, lets customers text Albert almost any financial question and receive expert office for a price as low as $6 per month. As a Genius, you’ll help our users navigate the twists and turns in their financial lives. You’ll speak to users digitally, learning more about their financial lives, what their goals are, and help create action plans that put their goals within reach. You’ll help our users build healthy financial habits that will last them a lifetime, while serving as a resource they can reach out to along the way. A successful Albert Genius not only has expertise in personal finance, but also the people skills to deliver advice with impact and empathy.

Things you're good at

  • Financial Planning/Coaching: When your friends need help understanding the difference between interest rates and APR, they come to you. Whether it’s a recent college graduate building their first budget or a family purchasing their first home, you have the personal finance and coaching experience to help.
  • Adaptability: You can change your approach based on the client’s needs. It doesn’t matter if the user makes minimum wage or $100 an hour; you know how to tailor your advice to suit their unique situation.
  • Problem-Solving: Just like no two financial situations are the same, there isn’t one “right” answer to every problem. You can look at an individual’s financial situation, assess what resources are available to them and offer a variety of solutions to help the user achieve their goals.
  • Organization: You can handle competing priorities, know how to assess what needs to get done first and create a plan of attack without sacrificing quality.
  • Collaborating: Our financial Geniuses talk to our users day-in and day-out; no one knows our customers’ pains and delights better than you. Working together with product, engineering and design teams, as well as your fellow Geniuses, you’ll help create the next generation of financial advice.

Responsibilities

  • Helping Genius customers tackle a variety of financial problems. You’ll cover the gamut of personal finance, from understanding their cash flow and creating budgets, to consolidating debt and investing for the very first time.
  • Managing high-volume inbound support channels. As a Genius, you may be the first interaction a user has with Albert and, as such, we want to provide advice promptly to our users. This may encompass different support channels like text, video and phone calls so being comfortable communicating succinct and clear financial advice in a number of ways will be key to your success.
  • Documenting topics in our internal support tools as they arise. We’re constantly asking ourselves, “How can Albert give better financial advice?” You’ll help us build documentation and training to drive our answers to this question forward.
  • Engaging with customers in innovative, creative ways across social media. We are interested in spreading our presence far and wide via Instagram and TikToks videos, among other things - so it's a plus if you're social media savvy.
  • Building trust in our advice and develop a rapport with our users. We understand that for most people, including ourselves, talking about money isn’t always easy. Our users consistently share important parts of their financial lives with us, including things even those closest to them may not know about. Regardless of whether it’s to celebrate a win or help create a plan when a user feels financially stuck, you’ll be someone’s champion, guide and confidante.
