Director, Financial Reporting- SEC
Job Summary:
This critical and high-profile position will play a critical role in SEC reporting and technical accounting (including business combinations, software revenue recognition, financial instruments/derivatives, stock-based compensation, debt, equity, leases) and other compliance related matters. This role will report to the VP, Finance.
Job Expectations:
- Manage the timely and accurate preparation of all external financial reports, including reports filed with the SEC on Form 10-Q, 10-K, ensuring financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP
- Prepare and manage the quarterly SEC reporting calendar, including coordination with external auditors, executives, finance, legal and investor relations departments
- Review the monthly and quarterly financial reporting package, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, and various management reports
- Review and provide feedback on internal and external communications, including board presentations and investor relations earnings releases, scripts, and presentations
- Work with internal stakeholders to provide accounting guidance for newly issued accounting rules and determine implications resulting from contemplated or executed transactions and contracts
- Draft, update, and review accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of operational efficiency for business units, while maintaining appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP
- Enhance the financial reporting process by streamlining, refining and improving the consolidation process
- Work as part of cross-functional teams to execute various special projects and transactions and preparation of ad hoc financial reporting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404 and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research
- A proactive approach to problem identification and remediation solutions, and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently, complete work timely, and work well as a team member
- Ability to provide guidance and build technical expertise amongst the team
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment
- Meticulous and superior attention to detail
Equipment Knowledge:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
Experience Requirements:
Generally, requires a minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience preferred, including Big Four public accounting experience
Education Requirements:
BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting and CPA is required
