As a Commercial Finance Lead, you will:
- Act as thought partner for Regional Managing Partner, People & Operations Director and Commercial Finance Director
- Work independently, sometimes leading a workstream and sometimes as part of a team, on completing regular and ad hoc requests as well as special projects that drive financial and operating performance
- Continuously seek to improve financial and administrative processes and operational effectiveness
- Document processes and best practices to create stronger and more uniform practices across all offices
- Ensure that local practices comply with BCG Digital Ventures policies and highlight areas of risk
- Develop, maintain and own collaborative planning tools, tableau dashboards, BI tools, presentation decks and processes
Regional Commercial Leadership
- Develop excel based analytics to support strategic decisions and present recommendations to senior leadership spanning pricing, revenues, profitability, staffing capacity, billability (productivity), headcount, sales pipeline, demand and real estate and any other strategic challenges
- Support Regional Managing Partner, People & Operations Director, Commercial Finance Director and other senior leadership in producing monthly and annual presentation packages and communication materials for management use
- Contribute to the preparation of the monthly reporting PowerPoint deck including preparing reports on operating costs
- Perform other duties and work on other special projects or initiatives, as necessary
- Support Commercial OC, Pipeline meetings, and strategic planning cycles
Venture Commercial Finance Management
- Work with ventures teams to setup budgets, report on financial performance and forecast revenues and expenses for ventures in the US
- Review project execution identifying variance of actual vs. budget, understanding impact on look forward performance and raising awareness on potential adjustments as necessary
- Partner with Practice Area Leads and Coordinators to develop insights and deliverables, and to report on performance
- Scope, assess and track investment requests as well as impacts to P&L
- Develop BO/BIR queries to support analysis
- Support revenue credit process
You should have:
- 6+ years finance and/or accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence to work independently
- Oracle, Hyperion, SAP, Tableau experience preferred
- Strong customer service orientation
- Exceptional out of the box thinking and creative problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build excellent working relationships with senior stakeholders and with geographically dispersed teams
- Proficiency in Excel a must and working knowledge of MS Office
- Strong organizational and process management skills combined with an ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced and demanding environment
