AML Compliance Officer

What you’ll do
- Assume responsibility for our broker-dealer’s Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Program, including being our primary Anti-Money Laundering Compliance FINRA contact
- Conduct regular monitoring of securities and money transactions
- Continually adjust and refine transaction monitoring rules and alerts
- File suspicious activity reports (SARs) with FinCEN, when and if applicable
- Conduct bi-weekly FinCEN 314(a) reviews
- Participate in FinCEN 314(b) information sharing, when and if appropriate
- Own our AML written supervisory procedure (AML WSP), including ensuring full implementation, compliance, and recommending updates to it to our CCO
- Ensure that the customer identification program (CIP) procedures for both individuals and business entities are compliant and accurately reflected in the AML WSP
- Perform initial and ongoing due diligence on registered investment advisers
- Define and refine initial and ongoing due diligence procedures for other business entities, including low-risk and heightened risk customers
- Conduct new individual and business entity account reviews and approvals
- Participate in the regular, annual and ad-hoc testing and monitoring of policies and procedures of Altruist’s multiple regulated entities, including its broker-dealer and registered investment adviser
- Contribute to examinations with regulatory agencies
- Assist in various other compliance needs and tasks as necessary
What you’ll need
- 2+ years of experience in anti-money laundering (AML) compliance for a broker-dealer
- 5+ years of hands-on operations and/or compliance experience at a broker-dealer
- Strong working knowledge of FINRA and SEC rules
- Entrepreneurial attitude and a deep empathy for our customers
- Expertise with financial products
- Strong knowledge of anti-money laundering (AML) regulations
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology to enhance business processes
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact persuasively with customer success, operations, product, and engineering teams
- Affinity for a fast-paced, early-stage environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- FINRA Series 7, 66, and 24
