About The Role
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the Accounts Payable department and ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. He/she will be engaged in implementing sound AP policies and procedures, as well as internal controls, and also participate in month end closing activities such as preparation of AP accruals, vendor account reconciliations, and cost analysis.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and manage a team of 5 AP Coordinators both at the corporate office and remotely at an outsourced service center.
Manage full cycle Accounts Payable, including vendor set up, invoice recording and auditing, and payment processing.
Review and approve transactions inputted by the AP Coordinators in NetSuite; Validate invoices against supporting audit work papers and/or documents maintained in other operating systems.
Review invoices and expense reports for proper GL/department coding and validate proper approval by department head.
- Schedule and process payment to vendors; reconcile outstanding invoices and payments against vendor statements
- Manage vendor profiles, including banking info & 1099 updates; issue 1099s at year ends
Maintain good vendor relations; responding to vendor inquiries and resolve disputes timely
Manage and process Expensify expense reports; perform credit card reconciliations monthly
Lead AP process improvement projects, including system implementation
Create/maintain SOPs and train AP coordinators
Implement AP policies and procedures; enforce internal controls.
Assist in month end closing activities such as AP accruals, bank reconciliation, and annual audits
Ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned
What You’ll Have:
7+ years Accounts Payable experience with a minimum of 2+ years as an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager
Supervisory experience required
Logistics, transportation, or freight industry experience is preferred, but not required.
Must be highly dependable and detail-oriented with the ability to manage many tasks
Qualified candidates will be a team player
Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail) MS Office (Excel and Word), Netsuite or other accounting systems
Accrual experience preferred
