THE OPPORTUNITY: Accounting Manager

We’re seeking our first Accounting Manager to join the Medely team! This individual will be a key member of the finance leadership team, as you’ll own all accounting operations, lay the program’s groundwork, and scale the department from scratch. You’ll report into and work closely with our VP of Finance to ensure day-to-day accounting operations are accurate, month-end close runs smoothly while overseeing revenue cycle, AP/AR, payroll and account reconciliations. You will also partner with various departments (i.e. Recruiting, HR, Operations, etc) on various cross-functional initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Build an accounting and financial operations program and team from the ground up
  • Lead the day-to-day general ledger activities
  • Lead the implementation of financial systems, process, and controls
  • Build and optimize revenue cycle workflows, order to cash and procure to pay processes
  • Assist in preparing and/or updating financial and accounting policies in accordance with GAAP
  • Own the month-end close process for revenue, GL operations, and account reconciliations
  • Ensure team deadlines for month-end close and financial reporting requirements are met and in accordance with accounting policies and standard operating procedures/controls
  • Lead automation and process improvement for all financial operations
  • Manage external auditors for quarter reviews and annual audits
  • Work closely with the business to develop key accruals
  • Provide insights into the financial results and close status to the Strategic Finance team
  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting filings (international entities) and various tax filings (domestic and international entities)

 

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Licenses: CPA a plus
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience and 2+ years of management experience
  • Experience building business processes and financial operations from the ground up, including selection and implementation of financial ops software/tech platforms
  • Very strong background in US GAAP and business processes
  • Ability to partner, collaborate, and influence across functional areas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines
  • Experience with Enterprise ERP systems (i.e. NetSuite)
  • Collaborate across multiple teams and be willing to roll up your sleeves and execute!
