WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager is a new position and will be responsible for coordinating the monthly, quarterly and year-end global accounting close process, including managing and building efficiencies within the corporate close calendar and related tasks list. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for the design and execution of the corresponding management financial packages. The Accounting Manager responsibilities will also be to oversee specific areas, such intercompany transactions, expense allocations and eliminations, capitalized software, leases, and debt, among others. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing processes and efficiencies that will scale with the growing expansion of The Trade Desk business.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end global accounting close process
  • Oversee specific areas of general ledger accounting, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables for areas such as leases, capitalized software, and debt among others
  • Manage the Global Chart of Accounts, including review of new or historic departments and accounts for proper financial statement reporting categorization
  • Execute delivery of monthly and quarterly financial packages for Management and coordinate the design, testing and implementation for new reports from various related systems, such as Oracle Cloud or Data Warehouse
  • Assist with the monthly Intercompany invoicing process, and related elimination journal entries
  • Directly Manage and support the Close & Reporting team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups; such as the accounting teams in various locations around the world, FP&A, SEC Reporting, SOX, and Tax, to serve as a reliable knowledge source for all areas of responsibility
  • Lead or have an active role in a variety of projects, including coordination of the testing and implementation of new global entities, application of new accounting guidance and related processes, and others
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including coordinating with Technical Accounting on accounting research and technical accounting memos, as needed
  • Adhere to and provide thorough documentation of SOX processes and controls related to the General Ledger and related processes
  • Assist with management of the annual external audit, quarterly reviews, and other audits as necessary

WHO YOU ARE:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the accounting industry; experience at a publicly traded company, a public accounting firm, or manager-level experience a plus
  • A four-year degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookups, pivot tables, and nested formulas
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks for varying stakeholders and to work under pressure and in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with an ERP System (Oracle Cloud experience a plus)
