Job Summary
Main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division. The division comprises all aspects, from architectures to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communications.
The Network Systems Department delivers in all aspects of systems, from architectures, requirements, and design through implementation, our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient network systems.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead communication and network engineering tasks and projects through architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation
- Lead development of innovative concepts, specialized technical studies and internal research and development (R&D) efforts
- Provide technical analysis and technical leadership to develop the next generation of network systems architectures and requirements incorporating design, analysis, modeling, and simulation
- Lead system-level trade studies and briefings for design concepts, protocols, requirements analysis, design reviews, system installation and integration oversight and validation of system requirements
- Utilize network testbeds to investigate new technologies and assess system performance
- Coordinate tasks and participate in technical meetings for customers working closely with members of diverse teams across Government and industry
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in engineering or science
- 8 years of experience in communication, network, or cloud systems
- Strong technical background in cloud technologies, network protocols, and network management
- Experience with cloud system architecture definition/development, trade studies, and requirements/interface definitions
- Ability to support systems integration of complex network systems
- Exceptional verbal and written English language skills, strong communication skills, and ability to interact well in group meeting/working environments
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

- Advanced degree from an accredited program in engineering or science
- Experience with satellite communication network systems
In-depth understanding of physical, link and network layers, emerging communication, and network technologies (e.g., SDN, 5G, Internet of Thing (IoT), etc.)
