We’re seeking a VOIP System Software Engineer to help us define and deploy the companies' in-house IP telephone communication systems, including their software architecture and hardware components. You will be responsible for design, building, and managing Convoso VOIP Platform.

What You Will Do: 

  • Meet with product team to design Convoso Next Voice Platform.
  • Analyzing existing Asterisk/SIP setup for improvement.
  • Developing architecture plans for voice and data services.
  • Developing new Asterisk modules for product enchantment.
  • Troubleshooting/fix Asterisk bugs.
  • Troubleshooting/fixing VoIP network issues and bugs.
  • Analyzing and upgrading network security systems and protocols.
  • Optimizing network installations for future expansion.
  • Building of a distributed and redundant VOIP Platform.
  • Training staff on VoIP System and network protocols. 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or similar field.
  • Previous experience working as a VoIP System Software Engineer.
  • Strong C programming skills.
  • Profound experience Asterisk and SIP.
  • Deep understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, QoS).
  • Profound experience in system administration (Linux)  and telecommunications.
  • Developed and Managed Asterisk modules.
  • Developed Multithreading applications in C.
  • Strong understanding of OSI model levels (Ethernet, 802.1Q, ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP).
  • Good knowledge of VoIP/PSTN technologies (H323, PRI, SS7,FreePBX,FreeSWITCH).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience capturing & reading Network Packets.
  • Experience with PCAP.
  • Optional SQL Experience.
  • Shell scripting experience.
  • Data Analysis experience.
  • Management or Lead experience is also a plus.
