WHY WE NEED YOU

You will work closely with testing and design teams to develop solutions to unique problems stemming from integrating a full hyperloop test system. You will be responsible for design and delivery of ground support equipment to support a full scale hyperloop test facility.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with test and design engineering teams to understand problem at hand and gather design requirements
  • Develop design solutions using Siemens NX, ANSYS, and hand calculations
  • Conduct design reviews to present ideas to stakeholders
  • Generate manufacturing drawings including GD&T and manufacturing best practices
  • Oversee build and deployment actives, working closely with technicians and test personnel
  • This role will primarily be located at the office headquarters in Los Angeles, CA but will require travel to the test facility in North Las Vegas, NV to support testing activities.  

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or another related field or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience of designing test rigs or test fixture tooling 
  • Knowledge of structural design of welded or bolted structures
  • Knowledge of tooling and machine design
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and methodologies
  • Proficient in 3D model generation, component, and assembly print generation
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning  and Tolerance(GD&T) practices

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience supporting hardware test programs 
  • Experience using Siemens Unigraphics NX 8 or higher
  • Experience using ANSYS
  • Experience using PLM / PDM software such as Teamcenter
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
