About the Technical Lead, Headspace Health at Headspace:
Headspace is looking for a Technical Lead, Headspace Health, based in our Santa Monica office, reporting into our VP of Engineering. Headspace Health is a new offering, distinct in key ways from the current Headspace experience, which helps people living with specific health conditions achieve improved health and happiness. The Technical Lead will be a key member of the Headspace Health core team, helping to shape the direction of our offering and bringing key concepts from idea to reality.
How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace:
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and other teams to shape the Headspace Health roadmap and successfully deliver new health products and features
- Shape the technical architecture of, and identify the optimal technical design and development approach for, Headspace Health
- Direct engineers across multiple disciplines, including mobile app development, Web front end development, backend service / API development, and DevOps, to deliver the full technology stack for Headspace Health
- Guide the Headspace Health engineering team to deliver testable, performant, and efficient code that fully meets product and technical specifications
- Set and communicate delivery timelines, and guide engineers to translate user stories to implementation tasks
- Own incident management, including resolution, root cause analysis, and cross-functional communication
- Define unit, functional, and integration testing approaches for Headspace Health, supervise test creation and execution, and partner with Operations team to leverage Headspace infrastructure, tools and CI / CD pipeline
- Mentor fellow engineers in design; architecture patterns, and Headspace engineering best practices. Inspire developers by providing new ideas or concepts to consider
- Provide team leadership in a fast-moving environment, balancing agility and stability; facilitate and unblock team members’ work to maximize team performance
What you’ve accomplished:
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience managing and leading cross functional software engineering teams to deliver new products or new features
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related experience
- Hands-on software development experience, working across multiple codebases, environments, and problems / contexts developing highly scalable, reliable, and resilient systems
- Facilitating software design and architecture across multiple environments -- including mobile apps, web properties, and cloud-based backend services
- Understanding and building for information security and privacy
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Hands-on experience across back end and front end development is a plus
- Experience in the Healthcare space is a plus
- Experience developing software in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, automotive) or in organizations with Quality Management Systems (such as ISO 9001, 13485, 16949, or FDA QSR) is a plus
