• Contribute to the development of team best practices and standards that drive every day technology decisions; drive and uphold operational excellence through those best practices
• Mentor team members through leading-by-doing and hands-on delivery support
• Drive key decisions on software architecture and technology roadmap while balancing longevity with rapid prototyping
• Create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to team members
• Lead the agile software development process, including planning, cross-team coordination, task assignments, code reviews, and design sign-off
• Split your time between leading the direction of the backend team while also being an active contributor to the code base and feature/system development

Requirements

• 2+ years writing Go code and familiarity with design patterns for Go, its shortcomings and differences from other languages
• Experience working with cloud based production systems (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure) that are part of an “always on” live environment, including capacity planning, scalability, and keeping high traffic systems live.
• Willing to “get your hands dirty” as an individual contributor, cut code and lead-by-example but also know when to step back and let the team drive solutions forward.
• Great product sense and ability to break problems down into their simplest current requirements - you can rapidly iterate on systems to meet the needs of today, while being able to plan for tomorrow too.
• Bachelors in Engineering a plus
