Ring is looking for a dedicated and talented Software QA Engineer to help us continue to build revolutionary products in the home security and monitoring space.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for creation, maintenance, and validation of test cases
• Reviewing developer code and implementations
• Root case failures by reviewing service and device logs
• Assist in the design and evolution of the company’s QA platform
• Identify and communicate risk & risk mitigation strategies
• Verify code patches and bug fixes
• Executing black and white box tests on web-based products
• Document Quality Assurance process and best practices

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• BS degree in CS or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience with Ruby or Python
• 5+ years of experience with debugging and troubleshooting software on remote system
• 5+ years of experience in backend development
• Understanding of production level software and software quality
• 5+ years building performance tests and validation process
• 5+ years of experience creating units tests, smoke tests and regression tests across all types of tech stacks, especially backend
• Experience with code review process and driving quality code development
• Strong ability to review logs and follow code path to debug and root cause failures
• Experience writing SQL queries and turning data into meaningful results
• Experience with working on continuous integration framework
• Ability to drive process and take ownership of bugs

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS
• Experience working with Airbrake and other error tracking software
• Experience doing audio/video data streaming
• Familiarity with SQL databases and elastisearch
• Experience building unit tests with developers
