Sr Software Engineer, Game Tools
Seniority Level: Mid-Senior
Location: Long Beach, CA. or US Remote (in select states)
About the role and about You:
Zwift is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for Game Tools to join our growing Tools and Pipeline team. You will help architect and develop various tools that will enable cross-functional teams to create virtual worlds on the Zwift platform. You will be working closely with designers, producers, engineers, artists, and product managers to build new features and help grow our core gaming experience.
What you’ll do:
- Develop tools within our custom game engine that will enable other developers, designers, and artists to build virtual worlds.
- Provide architecture, design, and implementation expertise to the game development team.
- Mentor other game engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and pair programming.
- Design, develop and support tools in our production pipeline from source assets to runtime.
- Work with our artists and designers to understand new requirements and proposed features.
- Contribute to team directions by driving standards, practices, methodologies, and technologies
What we’re looking for:
- Strong knowledge of C and C++.
- Experience working within a game engine (preferably C++ based).
- Strong 3D game math knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Comfortable sharing ideas with other engineers and participating in technical discussions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Bonus points:
- Experience working on an MMO and/or AAA game.
- Experience developing tools or customizing a Level Editor.
- Interest in creating fun experiences around cycling, running, and overall fitness.
