Software Engineering Manager

We are  seeking an exceptionally talented Software Engineering Manager who can/will manage and build a cross-functional team (backend, frontend) to help us deliver on Product initiatives and push our technology forward.

Success in this role requires a dynamic leader who understands how to build trust, unite and bond the team, develop good collaboration with other teams and departments. 

You will:

• Manage a team of 4-8 engineers
• Be hands on in terms of being an active contributor while the team is small
• Recruit and build a fantastic team
• Develop great engineering practices
• Coordinate and direct projects, make detailed plans to accomplish goals, and direct the coordination of technical activities
• Assess the feasibility of projects given team capacity and complexity of initiatives
• Oversee technical decisions and facilitate trade-off decisions between product and engineering
• Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical workflows
• Provide career development and mentorship for engineers that report to you
• Help us maintain a good balance between product velocity and quality

You Have:

• 6+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years in management roles
• Mastered one or two programming languages (Python and/or PHP a plus)
• Experience running a team working long-lived code bases (5+ years)
• Our stack is k8s, MySQL, Postgres, Redis, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, PHP, Python, React. Experience with some of these isn’t required but desired.
